Indian Agriculture - What happens tomorrow?

In this present world, how many of us have taken a moment to think about the differences between the history of Indian agriculture and what really is happening now in the sector? The thought hit me during an unexpected moment in an unrelated situation and yet, I was curious enough to think why India's agriculture has been declining alarmingly. The result is mind boggling really. There are numerous studies and reports on this issue. Every single one of those gives numbers and it started getting depressing to see those that I don't even bother mentioning them here. There seems to be no point in analyzing numbers and wondering over them anymore. It is high time something was done a bit more than crunching of numbers. On that front, India also has a long history of trying to rectify this very problem and there seems to be very little progress. Now, why is that? What has happened to the country which once was an expert in agriculture, that once was the king of the art? What...

At the end of the day..

We begin our day with numerous expectations, dreams and what not.. We try to make our day good. We try to make ourselves happy with our favourite food, a fantasised movie, time with people we love. We work our days away with tiny moments of fun. When the years pass, we begin our lives, yet again with expectations, dreams and what not.. Only at a whole new level. Until then, many of us know nothing about who we really want to be. And when we do, we don't find a way that leads there.      Having infinite ups and downs, blossoms and thorns every day all through life adds to our slow growing strength, every time showing us what went wrong. But that doesn't keep us from being pierced by a thorn again. It's always a new thorn, new wound. Shows us the preciousness of the blossoms. We work in various ways to get the flower of our dream bloom, to grow the bud to give it a shot at the least. Each one of us have a flower of different colour, different ...

The darkness

O the creatures of this earth, Tell me about your life. Tell me how you lived, Tell me how you live, Tell me how you will. How do you do without begrudging your life? Cause this life, Makes me feel I’m no good to live. Do I have a purpose? Do I have a cause? Even if I do, I do not belong to What I do to do. Will I get to my right place? Will I get my right space? To do what I want to do. Must I do good in what I do? Should I hate what I want to do? Or should I love what I do to do? Should I regret who I am? Or should I bloom on who I am? Do I need these failures? Do I need them to do? Why do they stop me From what I want to do? Why do they push me To do what I do to do? I’m standing right here, All alone, in here, Surrounded by souls That can never know What I want them to know. When will this battle end? The battle of life... Fighting as a single on my side, I face the charge Of the opposite side With no one by my side. Will I win? Wil...

Friends for life

We all do have friends, some a close knit circle and some in impressive numbers. What we do with them totally depends on the age, time and intentions. Most of the time people never know if their friends really are up to the title and apparently, they are not. But what could we possibly do about it? We never know.      There is an old saying, that quotes the books to be the best friends humankind can have. Unaware of my doing it, I put the theory to test. I also found people who already tested it. All we could find was that it can't be any truer. At the end of a sore day, after taking downfalls when you thought the day couldn't get any worse, think about grabbing a book portraying a beautiful story while seeking the comfort of your bed. The story slowly lulling you to sleep, you would forget all the bad moments of the day by the time your eyes close. You could even be in good spirits the next day. Admittedly, there are some people, who are th...

Chimes of new beginning

A wedding is something to cherish, may that be one's own or of the one known. When that "one known" is a friend who studies with you, the fun and the joy doubles.      One day out of the blues, a friend of mine told me she's gonna get married in a week. I did jump in joy but it took my brain quite a long time to register the truth and intensity of what she said. That one week went in a blur with her busy in preparing for her wedding. Well we all know the two words, wedding preparation contain a world of works. So my friends and I let her be and we planned things on our part. Hers being the first marriage in our entire class it was so special for us that we almost felt like it was our own. So we decided to make sure to attend and have fun.      As for the fun part, the venue was a far away place, so I stayed in a friend's house the previous night. Guess the time we woke up the next morning!  It was 1:30 am! By 4:00 a...

Chocolate or the Chocolatier?

There are only a very few things that have the tendency to make people feel like kids again. The one that tops the list is chocolate. Dark, milk.. Does it matter?  Absolutely not. Made of a lovely blend of sugar, butter and the cocoa, the God's food itself, this enchanting delicacy is good enough to make someone happy beyond limits.      We could be running all the way to our work, or we could be in a mood so sulky that we want to everything to stop. But a small piece of chocolate can make us stop and put a smile on our faces. I mean, come on! Can you find someonewho can frown at the smell of cocoa bubbling in the butter? That's what I am talking about. Chocolate shows love and affection, in so many ways that we can't count. Chocolate is nothing but a positive sign that symbolises something good happening. Well I for one, have got one lovely rule, which says an apology will be accepted only if it has got a big lovely chocolate with it. ...

Life Of Colours

We associate a lot of things with colours, might that be the visual sense obtained from the flowers or the joyful successes in our lives. We do say our life is full of colours when we achieve our goals and when we are happy and satisfied with our lives. What we don't see if that flowers literally do live a life of colour. And fragrance, if you would like to add. But those of us who took the effort to see that know full well their beauty.      When was it that we last felt the joy of seeing a flower bloom? Most of us won't be able to remember doing something like that. But I did feel that joy this morning, when I watched a tree full of red hibiscus bloom. Well I didn't have my eyes stuck at the flowers to observe them open up. But it took them a mere forty minutes to unroll their petals, which was pretty fast. Faster than most flowers I have seen. I could see it happening every time I checked. It was silly and childish and yet I had the fun of watching it and ...
